以下是笔者的立场和范文参考:支持less than one hour.


Today, schools and families, as well as the whole society are paying greater and greater attention to children’s education. For children from five to ten, there are a quite number of debates on how to educate them best as well as to prepare them better for future development. As for an ideal timetable, some might claim that children at this age should be trained on purpose to improve their ability of concentration; for example, lessons for students should be prolonged significantly. From where I stand, only by continuing the course length less than one hour, can children achieve a balance between studying and resting, however.


First off, a proper time length of class benefits children's physical health and development. Students between 5 to 10 are experiencing the critical period of growth and development, and every break between classes is precious time for physical activities, allowing them to alter stiff posture in classes and to stretch out bodies. As a result, relatively frequent class intervals are of high necessity. Besides, if extending class length, it might even do direct harm to students health. (可进一步举例论证)


In the next placethe variety of class and subjects can be allowed if the time length is controlled within one hour. Modern education emphasizes the diversification of learning contents, which promotes all-round development. School time every day is limited. However, setting lessons into longer period cuts down the number of subjects student could have in a day, which could also weaken the fun of school learning. Also, children tend to learn for fun instead of any practical purpose, so with a relatively boring school learning, their efficiency would even be decreased.


Granted, some parents who are anxious about their children future hope that schools can offer specific classes and prolong class length to train and improve  children’s concentration, with which, they believe, children can perform well in higher study and work. Such parents become relieved and even glad when they see children obediently stay and listen in the class, and the longer the better. However, this well-behaved, docile and compliant picture does not mean children are carefully focusing on what teachers are showing in classes. Largely, they are just performing well through bodies, instead of their minds and thinking, as they are only young students between five to ten, whose physical and mental development is still at a relatively low stage.


 

In a word, according to the above-mentioned reasons and examples, lessons within an hour are more advisable and feasible for young students. For their age, health and the cultivation of interest is far important than other things.
